Step 1: From your Shopify admin, click on "Products" on the left menu, then select the product that you would like to set a sales price on.
You can use the search bar to filter products β useful if you have hundreds of listings on your Shopify store.
Step 2: Scroll down to the section where it says "Pricing". From there, you can set the "Compare at Price" (price before the sale) and "Price" (the new sales price).
Step 3: Click "Save". That's it β you've now set a sales price for that product. To verify the change, go back to the "Products" page. Select the product on sale, then click on "More Actions" and go to "Preview".
On the product page, you will see that the old price has been crossed out, with the new sales price highlighted along with a sales badge.
Setting sales prices in bulk
If you have hundreds (if not thousands) of products to set on sale, then editing each one can be a tedious and time-consuming process. A quicker and more efficient solution is to use Shopify's bulk editor tool.
Step 1: Start by clicking on "Products" on the left menu of your Shopify admin. Use the search bar to filter products that you would like to set a sales price on.
For instance, you can type in "watches" and the page refreshes to show all of the watches you have listed on your store.
Step 2: Tick off the top checkbox to select all products listed on the page, then click on "Edit Products".
Step 3: If it's not there already, you can add the fields for "Price" and "Compare at Price" by clicking on the "Add Fields" button.
Step 4: Click on the price of the first product and hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard. Press the down arrow key on your keyboard until you've got all the prices selected on the page and key in the new sales price. The price will be automatically duplicated for all products listed on the page.
Now do the same for the values under "Compare at Price", then click on the Save button. Wait for the process to finish completely (denoted by a checkmark on the left side of each product) before you exit or proceed to the next page.
Note: You can only bulk edit prices for products with the same parameters (sales price and compare at price). Even so, it will still be faster to use the bulk editor tool to set sales prices for different products since you can do it all on the same page.
